NewGrange Development was named after possibly the oldest “Green” building in the world. Older than the pyramids of Giza and the Stonehenge, Newgrange was built as a passage tomb over 5,000 years ago in Ireland and it still stands today. The Newgrange monument was designed sustainably and built to last. Constructed with locally sourced stone, granite, and the worlds oldest green roof, Newgrange was built to withstand turbulent weather conditions and thrive in its optimum conditions. At NewGrange Development we share similar principles to those who worked on the original Newgrange- we are designing buildings to take advantage of the earth’s natural and renewable resources, the sun, wind, rain, native landscape, and local materials, and building with such quality and integrity that we know we can be proud of our buildings for a long time to come.
NewGrange Development was incorporated in 2007 in the state of Illinois with a mission to be a leader in sustainable development and green building. Founded on the backs of over two decades of quality homebuilding and environmentally responsible construction, we started NewGrange to bring green construction to the market place at an affordable cost. We have been a member of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council) the nationally recognized non-profit organization since 2007 and although we advocate the use of their LEED Rating Systems on our building projects, we do not limit ourselves to solely LEED projects, sustainable design and green construction come standard. With locations in Chicago and Tinley Park, Illinois, we serve the entire Chicago-land and Northwest Indiana region with quality design, construction, and project management.
